20 killed, 11 injured in Turkish tourist bus crash

At least 20 people have been killed and 11 injured after a bus with Turkish tourists crashed near the resort town of Marmaris in southwestern Turkey, Amir Çiçek, a governor of Muğla province where Marmaris is located, said, as cited by Turkish media.
The bus was traveling to Marmaris from the Buca district of the western İzmir province. “There were no foreign tourists inside it. The reason for the accident is being examined. There may be a malfunction in the brakes, but the issue is being investigated,” Çiçek said, as cited by Hurriyet Daily news.
According to Marmaris Mayor Ali Acar, “the situation is dire.”
“A high number of people were killed. I think that the accident was a result of driver failure,” Acar added.
