No one knows how many people actually live in this country
Africa's most populous nation might not be at all. Nigeria hasn't had a legitimate state-sponsored census since 2006. And while the country is on track to have the world's third-largest population by 2050, no one knows how many Nigerians actually live in the African nation. As of 2015, the country is reported to have 182 million people, according to the World Bank. But that number is based on the 2006 census which, according to The Economist, was probably exaggerated. In 2013, Nigeria's head of the National Population Commission resigned after saying that none of the country's censuses, including the one from 2006, had ever been accurate.
