The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has denied issuing new Ghana Cedi notes into the system.
New Ghana cedi notes ranging between Gh¢100 and Gh¢200 have flooded social media raising a lot of eyebrow and causing panic.
However the Bank of Ghana has denied reportage that it has issued new Ghana cedi notes.
Public Affairs Director of the Central Bank, Esi Hammonddenied the news.
She said “It’s not true.”
Speaking to Starr FM, she said “The Bank is not issuing any new denomination.”
She added that “the security agencies will know what to do, but we can assure you that we haven’t done that and we are not in the process of doing it.”
