Grand opening date set for new Victoria Falls Airport

The new Victoria Falls International Airport is expected to be a game changer for Zimbabwe’s tourism industry.

The newly-upgraded, expanded, and modernized Victoria Falls International Airport will be opened on November 18 by Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe it was learned yesterday.
Three years of work saw the runway lengthened and new passenger terminals for domestic and international flights completed, giving the old airport a new lease on life with modern architecture of glass, steel, and marble.

The new facility is expected to be a game changer for Zimbabwe’s tourism industry as international flights not just from the region but from other continents can now land at the airport. Nearby Victoria Falls, one of Africa’s top tourism attractions, is complemented by easily accessible national parks, giving tourist visitors a range of exceptional experiences when visiting Zimbabwe.

A UniVisa for visits to both Zimbabwe and Zambia will reportedly shortly be relaunched to entice tourists to visit both countries.
